One Time I Was Stress Free

To say I’m Type A might be a bit of an understatement. Anyone who knows me even a little bit would probably say that is me when I’m sleeping. My stress level hits extreme levels more often than not and there is really no way of combatting that. My usual response is to cry, then throw something, then cry some more. Obviously I’m a toddler.

But once (yes, once) there was this time when I was completely stress-free. For a whole week. I know. Unheard of. Oh, and this was right in the middle of Stanley Cup Playoffs, which is pretty much guaranteed to bring my stress level from extreme to nuclear. But not even the Rangers/Capitals series could bring me out of my calm. Oh the magic of Belize.

My boyfriend and I went to Belize and as soon as I stepped off the plane and into the heat I was in paradise. Even more so when we arrived at a resort where they gave us Rum Punch as soon as they spotted us. A way to a woman’s my heart is with Rum Punch, obviously. And with each rum punch consumed my stress melted away and vacation Sarah set in. Now I’m no expert but I’m pretty sure vacation Sarah is awesome. I totally want to hang out with her all the time. Because all she does is lay in the sun, take naps, play in the sand, and drink rum, obviously. Oh. And she doesn’t yell at anyone. Not The Rangers, not those annoying people who look at her. See? She’s amazing.

When I got back to DC my body tensed up, my heart started pounded, and the blackberry was buzzing. And vacation Sarah disappeared. But the Three Barrel Rum that we brought back with us is here to stay. Discovering that an awesome liquor store in DC carries it made me so happy. So now we can have rum punch all the time. And vacation Sarah and come hang out for a little.

The great thing about rum punch is you can alter it to suit your taste. I like a little citrus flavor in mine, like orange or lime, but if like more traditional, add some fruit punch. Just let the rum flow.
